I was so shocked to read of the Kansas women who have started an online
petition to pressure the U.S. Army to bring their Army Reservist
husbands home after one year of active duty deployment. Where is the
outrage over this blatant attempt to undermine the security of our
great nation by these uppity wives of our brave soldiers? Have they no
sense of patriotic duty? Why aren't they, themselves, volunteering for
active military duty? Don't they have friends and relatives who could
parent their children while they go off and do our duties for us?
I, for one, support our troops. Doesn't that mean that we are supposed
to blindly follow the lead of President Dick Cheney and his
spokesperson, George W. Bush? After all, President Cheney, through GW,
told us we'd have to sacrifice. And remember, Cal Thomas and Bill
O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh and John Ashcroft and "the stunningly
beautiful" Ann Coulter say that opposing our government's policies is
providing aid and comfort to the enemy.
What do these enemy-coddling
women want? For their husbands to come home safely—and while their
children are still children? How dare they! We're a nation at war!
To
Mr. Ashcroft, I say, "check their library records!" America über alles!
